PET protective film can be found everywhere in our lives. From cellphone‘s screen protector, iPad tablet film, to many display screen protectors, optical lens protection film, thermal transfer film in printing industry and so on. Why can PET protective film have such a wide range of applications? PET reflective film
PET reflective film is used in billboards with reflective requirements, traffic reflective signs (reflective road signs, reflective isolation belts, reflective car number plates), reflective police uniforms, industrial safety signs, etc. Pet reflective film is characterized by excellent optical properties of the film, the surface is flat, smooth, good thermal stability, small shrinkage, light aging resistance.
There are two types of reflective materials used in transportation facilities: lens-type directional reflective film and flat-top reflective film. They are all made of aluminum-plated PET film as a reflective layer, on which a number of glass beads with a refractive index of 1.9 are adhered to the PET aluminum coating, and then a layer of agglobutaldehyde surface protection layer is sprayed. In order to improve the surface properties of PET films to improve the adaptability of printing and the binding force of vacuum aluminized layers, corona treatment is usually used to improve the surface tension of the film.
However, the corona method has problems such as timeliness. Especially in high temperature and high humidity environments, the tension of the film after corona treatment is easily attenuated. However, the chemical coating law does not have such a problem, so it is favored by the printing industry and the aluminum plating industry.
PET chemical coating film
At present, PET chemical coating series products has been developed in China . If water-soluble polymers is coated, the surface tension of pet films can be improved. If the acrylate-based emulsions is coated, it could improve printing adaptability (water-soluble inks can be used). If the polyurethane aqueous solution is coated, that can strengthen the binding force of the aluminized layer with the PET-based film and increase the thickness of the aluminized layer. In addition, the coating method can also be used to make high barrier films and anti-static films.
PET high-gloss film
In addition to the excellent physical and mechanical properties of ordinary polyester film. High-gloss BOPET film has a large market capacity, high added value and obvious economic benefits. Besides, it has excellent optical properties such as good transparency, low haze and high gloss. It is mainly used for high-grade vacuum aluminized products. The film is mirrored after aluminization and has a good packaging decoration effect. And can also be used for laser anti-counterfeiting based film.
PET transfer film
Transfer film is also known as thermal transfer film. This transfer film is characterized by high tensile strength, good thermal stability, low heat shrinkage, smooth surface, good peelability, and can be used repeatedly. It is mainly used as a carrier for vacuum aluminum plating, that is, the PET film is placed in the vacuum aluminization machine after aluminization, the glue is compounded with paper, and then the PET film is peeled off, and the aluminum molecular layer is transferred to the cardboard surface through adhesive action, forming the so-called aluminum cardboard.
The production process of aluminized cardboard is: PET-based film release layer aluminum coated layer glue layer is transferred to cardboard. Vacuum aluminized cardboard is a type of cardboard with a metallic luster. This kind of aluminized cardboard has a bright color, strong metallicity, bright and elegant prints, which can replace the large area of gilding of printed materials and play a role in icing on the cake for the beautification of goods. Because it adopts the method of vacuum aluminization, only a layer of 0.25um~0.3 is a high-grade novel packaging material developed in recent years on the surface of the cardboard. um thin and tight and bright aluminum layer, only one-fifth of the aluminum foil layer of mounted aluminum cardboard, so that it has both a noble and beautiful metallic PET protective film feeling, but also has degradable, recyclable environmental properties, is a green packaging material.
PET antistatic membrane
PET protective film today’s world has entered the information age, a variety of frequencies, wavelengths of electromagnetic waves fill the entire earth space, these electromagnetic waves will be unshield sensitive electronic components, circuit boards, communication equipment will produce different degrees of interference, resulting in data distortion, communication disorder. The static electricity generated by electromagnetic induction and friction will be destructive to various sensitive components, instrumentation, certain chemical products, etc., such as high voltage discharge due to the static accumulation of packaging films, the consequences will be destructive, so the development of anti-static PET packaging films is also very important. The characteristic of the anti-static film is to add a certain anti-static agent to the PET film, so that the surface of the film forms an extremely thin conductive layer, and forms a continuous phase, improving the surface conductivity, so that the generated charge leaks as soon as possible. The surface specific resistance of the anti-static film is generally required to ≤ 109~11 ohms. It can be seen that the application of PET protective film almost includes high-end applications in protective film applications, and the performance is also very stable and the scalability is good, which is why PET protective film can be so favored.
