The difference between water glue and oil glue in aluminum foil tape

原图1

Along with the increasingly stringent environmental regulations, people’s environmental awareness is getting stronger, the market demand has gradually changed, many glue manufacturers are also trying to find a breakthrough in the transformation, today to water-based glue and oil-based glue, for example, to talk specifically about what is the difference between them.

1.The solvent is different. The main solvent of water-based glue is water, and acrylic acid, etc., after the production of a glue. And the main solvent of the oil-based glue is the oil solvent, there are toluene, and acrylic dissolved and made.

2.Environmental performance is different. If the use of poor oil-based solvent, it will cause pollution to the environment, and water-based glue solvent is more healthy and environmentally friendly.

3.The price is different. It is because they are different solvents, so the price of oil-based glue to be slightly more expensive, the cost is even greater, the cost of using oil-based solvents also soared all the way up.

With the development of the times, the reduction or removal of organic solvents in laminating adhesives has become a common goal of the whole industry. At present, we can completely eliminate the solvent lamination method has water-based lamination and solvent-free lamination. Solvent-free lamination on the cost and technology and other factors is relatively large, and is still in its infancy. The water-based adhesive can be used directly on the dry laminating machine, and is popular in printing and packaging manufacturers with a high rate of development.

(1). Compound strength. Water-based adhesive molecular weight is relatively large, is dozens of times than the polyurethane adhesive, so only a small amount of glue can achieve a relatively high composite strength.

(2). More soft, better composite effect on the metallized PET film. One-component water-based adhesive is softer than two-component polyurethane adhesive, when they are completely solidified, polyurethane adhesive is very rigid, while water-based adhesive is very soft. So the soft characteristics and elasticity of water-based adhesives are more suitable for the compounding of metallized PET film, which is not easy to cause the transfer of metallized PET film.

(3). Thin adhesive layer, good transparency. As the water-based adhesive glue on the amount of small, and glue on the concentration of higher than solvent-based adhesives, so the need for drying and discharge of water is far less than solvent-based adhesives. After the water is completely dried, the film will become very transparent, and the transparency of the compound is also better than that of solvent-based adhesives because the adhesive layer is thinner.

(4). Environmental protection, harmless to people. Water-based adhesive dry without solvent residue, many manufacturers use water-based adhesive to avoid the residual solvent brought about by the composite, so the use of water-based adhesive production safety, no damage to the health of the operator.
